Lech Poznan striker scores 25-yard thunderbolt goal

Published 4 Comments

Lech Poznan striker Gergo Lovrencsics lit up the final day of the Polish league campaign with a contender for goal of the season in his side's 2-0 victory over Korona Kielce on Sunday.

The 24-year-old received the ball 25-yards out with his back to goal, took one touch to set himself before unleashing a ferocious drive into the top corner, past the outstretched Korona goalkeeper.

It marked Lovrencsics's eight goal of the 2012/13 season - and seventh in the league - but surely will have been the best of the bunch, as it was a truly top-class strike.

Having already missed out on the domestic title at the expense of Legia Warsaw, Poznan were forced to settle for second place in the table, but ensured a final tally of 61 points from 30 games - just six behind this year's champions - to end another respectable campaign.
