Chelsea's Bundesliga striker deal complicated by Belgian winger

Andre Schurrle's on-off move from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea may have hit a snag over the involvement of Kevin de Bruyne, reports Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old striker has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and is understood to have already agreed terms with the Europa League champions.

However, Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to take De Bruyne on a season-long loan as part of the deal, but the Belgian - who spent the 2012/13 campaign at Werder Bremen - would reportedly favour a switch to Borussia Dortmund.

"De Bruyne only wants to come to us," the club's director of sport Michael Zorc told Germany's Kicker magazine.

The 21-year-old's apparent reluctance to join Bayer Leverkusen is the only thing holding up Chelsea's deal for Schurrle, with Wolfgang Holzhauser confirming that the Germany international is ready for the Premier League.

Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign De Bruyne on a permanent basis, but Chelsea officials would prefer to send the winger out on loan again, and hope to be able to use him as bait to secure Schurrle's signature.
