Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by dismissing rumours linking him with Barcelona.

The 30-year old has been heavily linked with the Spanish champions and has been expected to replace Victor Valdes at the Nou Camp.

But the former Barcelona goalkeeper has rubbished rumours suggesting that he will return to his former club.

"I have my contract with Liverpool for three more years and nothing has changed," Reina told reporters. "We want to make it bigger and my future is at Liverpool right now.

"About Barca, it is only rumours and people talking about the possibilities. There are no facts and I can't talk about that."

Current Barcelona goalkeeper Valdes had suggested that he will stay at Barcelona for one more season before leaving in the summer of 2014 at the end of his contract.

Reina has been touted as the ideal replacement but has moved quickly to quash rumours that he will return to his native Spain.

He also respected compatriot Victor Valdes and acknowledges that the goalkeeper won't be leaving the Catalan club this year.

Reina added: "Victor has said he will not move from Barcelona and wants to fulfil his contract, and that must be respected."

The Liverpool goalkeeper progressed through the Barcelona academy before working his way through their teams. After spells at Barcelona C and Barcelona B, Reina's ability was recognised and he was brought into the first-team to act as cover.

However, due to the lack of starting appearances Reina left Barcelona for Villarreal. He spent three years at 'The Yellow Submarine' before being signed by Liverpool in 2005.

His first season ended in glory as the Spaniards penalty heroics helped clinch the F.A Cup for the Merseyside club and has gone on to make 285 league appearances
