Manchester United have emerged as rivals to Arsenal and Chelsea to sign Fiorentina’s star forward Stevan Jovetic.
According to the Daily Express, new Old Trafford manager David Moyes is a keen admirer of the Montenegro international and is prepared to enter the fray for his signature.
The report claims Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has put the £25million-rated forward at the top of his summer transfer targets as he looks to make his squad more competitive in the Premier League once again.
However, Jose Mourinho was confirmed as the new Chelsea manager on Monday and he is reportedly also keen on Jovetic.
Arsenal will be worried about the interest of their Premier League rivals, as both have superior spending power than the Emirates Stadium outfit.
His club Fiorentina have refused to budge below their valuation of €30million so Wenger’s usual craving for a bargain might not be so well received on this occasion.
One thing Arsenal may be able offer Jovetic over Manchester United and Chelsea is more regular first team football; Robin van Persie is the undoubted first choice at Old Trafford, while the Stamford Bridge club are expected to recruit heavily in that area.
