Just what exactly are Chelsea's plans for the young and talented Belgian Romelu Lukaku?
Chelsea already have a host of top players and with even more to come in the transfer period, questions will surely be raised about how he will feature in the squad.
With the club having Demba Ba and Fernando Torres also playing in his position, he would have to really impress if he is to get a place in the starting eleven.
He may have further dilemmas as well if Chelsea do not sell Torres like they are planning to and they buy another Striker which is also part of the club's top priorities.
Chelsea were linked with Radamel Falcao who has now signed for Monaco, but are still very interested in luring Napoli's very talented Edinson Cavani. Edin Dzeko has also been considered.
After not featuring very often for Chelsea in his debut season in 2011/12, he was sent on a season long loan to West Bromwich Albion, for whom he impressed by scoring seventeen goals including a stunning hat trick against Manchester United.
Lukaku had impressed so much by the end of the season that he was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, but also won the West Brom player of the year award.
It was not easy for him to get first team football, as he had to wait behind players like Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge. Drogba and Sturridge have since left the club, for the very same reasons that Lukaku may struggle to feature as frequently as he would like to.
It is up to Chelsea to decide whether or not they want to make more risks in this time of transition after the frustration of Torres still not finding Premier League form after being with the blues for three seasons and scoring a disappointing low thirty one goals, which other strikers could get close to or beat in just one season.
Chelsea have been in contact with Bayer Leverkusen about Andre Schurrle who also can threaten his position being able to play on the wing and as a striker.
Jose Mourinho having just returned to Chelsea as manager for the second time, will be looking to get Chelsea as strong as possible and may not require his services.
Lukaku has said that he dreamed of playing for Chelsea since he was young and would like to stay with Chelsea if given the opportunity. He has considered also staying with West Brom for another season long loan after his impressive first season with them.
Lukaku is a very talented player and has the potential to become even better as he is at a very young age, No doubt there will be a few clubs monitoring the Belgian's situation.
