Some Premier League stars are famed for scoring long-distance rockets during their careers.
Here are four strikers from the Premier League era equipped with the hardest shots.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
The former Leeds United, Chelsea and Middlesborough player scored countless goals for each of his clubs and many were crisp finishes.
Hasselbaink liked to take free-kicks and was also very adept at scoring goals from outside the area. He was one of the best strikers of a football in the Premier League years.
Unfortunately for Hasselbaink he was very limited in international appearances due to the fierce competition in the Dutch side, but very few of his striking rivals could strike a football as well as he could.
Who can forget Yeboah's Goal of the Season strike for Leeds United against Wimbledon in 1995, when he nearly broke the back of the net?
That volley will forever stand out in my mind as one of the cleanest strikes in the Premier League era. Quite often Yeboah was a potential Goal of the Month or Goal of the Season contender.
Another strike for Leeds, against Liverpool in 1995, was also memorable for the way it thumped in off the crossbar.
Hitzlsperger was not a prolific goalscorer, but when he did score they were generally unstoppable shots for any goalkeeper.
The German scored some fantastic goals for Aston Villa during his stay at Villa Park, particularly with his left foot. Despite only scoring a few goals for Villa he still earned the nickname of ‘The Hammer’ which is testament to the power he had.
The Premier League’s all-time leading scorer scored many goals in his career and scored goals of all different types but some of his thunderous free-kicks were some of the best.
Shearer also scored a number of penalties in his career, some of which were unstoppable as Shearer simply hammered them into the back of the net. Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle and England supporters will all agree that Shearer possessed one of the hardest shots in the game.
All these players had excellent power in their feet but I am sure there are others who you believe warrant inclusion in this list. Please let me know your personal favourite In the comments box below.
