Jamaica defender guilty of terrible throw-in fail

Published 2 Comments

If Jamaica's 1-0 defeat against Mexico in last night's CONCACAF World Cup qualifying clash  wasn't hard enough to take, Reggae Boyz fans better look away now after Alvas Powell's ridiculous throw-in fail.

The 18-year-old defender - making his international debut - was guilty of a terrible piece of wing play on Tuesday evening, after a shocking attempt to restart the game from the right touchline early in the second-half.

A memorable occasion for any young professional footballer, sadly for Powell his first appearance for his country will be tarnished by the silly error, in addition to the fact Jamaica lost the match, after Aldo de Nigris scored in the 48th minute.

The result leaves Jamaica winless, and bottom of their qualifying group after four games, with Friday's fixture against the United States already looking like a "must-win" if they are to retain any hope of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil next year.

Watch footage of Alvas Powell's hilarious throw-in fail in the video below - with thanks to 101greatgoals.com - and feel free to share any other football funnies in the comment box provided!
