Manchester United are closing on the signature of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman, according to reports.
The Daily Star cite sources in Holland when claiming that David Moyes is set to land the Dutch international as a replacement for Paul Scholes – who became a Premier League legend at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Strootmam, who will cost the Red Devils £10million, is set to become the new manager’s first signing since taking over at the club last month.
Moyes was linked with a move for the player during his time at Everton, with the paper claiming he requested a detailed scouting report on the player during his time at Goodison Park.
Just months later, he’s finally set to get his man, although it’s Manchester United who will be the beneficiary of a deal.
The 18-cap international scored six goals in 35 Eredivisie games last season, helping PSV to a second-place finish.
However, he may have played his final game at the Phillips Stadium, as Manchester United close in on a deal.
