Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has been forced to apologise after attacking a journalist and smashing his camera on the floor.

The club chief was far from happy at being followed round the city by Valerio Arrichiello, who was eager to discuss speculation that the Serie ‘A’ club was being put up for sale.

But, instead of politely asking to be left alone, he decided to attack the Il Secolo XIX reporter, kicking him in the shins before ripping his camera from his grasp.

Preziosi then made matters worse by smashing it on the floor – an act he now regrets.

“I removed a camera that was position in an improper fashion. I already apologised and said “I’ll pay for the camera. However, it’s not right to ambush people,” he said, according to Metro.

“My reaction might be criticised, but the violence I suffered was worse. I will not accept someone filming me in secret and then ambushing me. In that context, I would indeed do it again.”

And, if he does it again, you’ll be able to see it here as well! For now, let’s enjoy his first moment of madness.
