Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez, a reported transfer window target for Chelsea, is not in negotiations to sign for Napoli this summer, according to the agent of the Germany international.
Gomez has been linked with a transfer to Naples before August's transfer deadline with the imminent arrival of Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena seemingly spelling the end for the former as a Bayern Munich player.
The 27-year-old has also been mentioned as a target for Chelsea as a possible replacement for Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge, with Jose Mourinho intent on reinforcing his squad over the next few months.
Gomez, however, has not spoken to Napoli - who recently appointed former Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez as their new manager - with his future still unclear as the transfer window fast approaches.
"We have never negotiated with Napoli," his agent Uli Ferber told Stuttgart Zeitung.
"We will decide on the player's destination in the next three or four days. We will make the best choice possible - we are in no rush."
Gomez has scored 113 goals in 174 appearances for Bayern Munich, but lost his starting place last season following the acquisition of Croatia international Mario Mandzukic.
