The Boston Red Sox thrashed Texas Rangers 17-5 in Tuesday's Major League Baseball action.
The Red Sox scored in every innings apart from the eighth including a score of six in the second and had nine on the scoreboard before Rangers registered.
The Rangers will be looking for a closer contest when the two face each other again on Wednesday and Thursday.
Elsewhere there were wins for the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers as they beat the Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays respectively.
The Tigers thrashed the Rays 10-1 while Yankees won 4-3.
The Arizona Diamondbacks waited until the ninth and final innings to secure the one score needed to beat St Louis Cardinals 7-6 while there was a high scoring game in California.
This came as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 9-7.
In other matches, the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves were both 5-4 victors over the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates respectively.
