Arsenal are in talks to sign highly-rated Germany youngster Matthias Ginter in a £5million deal, according to the Mirror.

A number of youth and first team personnel have been confirmed as leaving the Gunners this summer and the latest reports claim manager Arsene Wenger is looking to restock his ranks with young talent.

Ginter is a 19-year-old Germany Under-21 international and has been impressing since breaking into the Freiburg first team last season.

Arsenal are expected to secure a deal for his signature with a bid in the region of £5million fro a player the report claims has been watched by Emirates Stadium scouts for some time.

Wenger is reportedly ready to spend big this summer in a bid to make Arsenal title challengers once again, but the signing of Ginter would align with the typical Gunners approach in the transfer market of picking up promising youngsters.

Ginter would join Yaya Sanogo as being a promising young signing brought in by Arsenal, while they are reportedly closing in on a transfer for 18-year-old Serb Aleksandar Mitkovic.

Gunners fans will be hoping Wenger can bring in some more recognisable and established signings before the transfer window closes in September.

Were Ginter to move to Emirates Stadium, he would join fellow Germans Lukas Podolksi, Per Mertesacker and Thomas Eisfeld.
