Oldham Athletic's FA Cup hero Matt Smith has joined Leeds United on a two year deal.

The striker, who scored against Everton and Liverpool for Oldham in this year's FA Cup will officially move to Elland Road on July 1.

The 24-year-old rejected a new deal to stay at Boundary Park where he has been since Oldham signed him from non-league Solihull Moors in 2011.

The six feet and six inches tall forward shot to fame this year with two goals to take Oldham past Liverpool into the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they were defeated by Everton via a replay. Smith scored in both matches against Everton.

In total, Smith scored 14 goals out of the 75 games he featured in for Oldham, although 54 of these appearances were as a substitute.

Smith becomes Leeds boss Brian McDermott's first signing since taking over at Elland Road in April.
