After Tottenham again narrowly missed out on Champions League football, this summers transfer window provides a great opportunity, before next season, to sign some quality players to help them make the top four.
But with Tottenham on a budget, they must spend wisely when looking at these key players that could decide their future.
4. Miralem Pjanic
He has been linked with Spurs as a replacement for Luka Modric, who left the club last summer, and the 23-year-old could help them find that bit of magic that is needed in the last third of the pitch.
He plays in the centre of midfield and the Bosnian is known to want a move away from his club Roma. He would not come cheap but is a young talent which Tottenham could use to their strengths.
3. Luke Shaw
With Benoit Assou-Ekotto out of form from his last injury, he has played quite poorly this season going from being one of the most consistent full-backs in the league to the most inconsistent.
Luke Shaw is the ideal replacement for him as he is quick, young and a good crosser of the ball. He is wanted by other big clubs like Chelsea due to his phenomenal season last year with Southampton and so Spurs will have to move fast for the 17-year-old nicknamed 'the new Gareth Bale.'
2. Mario Gomez
Spurs are one of the clubs trying to buy the tall structure of Mario Gomez this transfer window as he seems to have been replaced by Croatian Mario Mandzukic. The 27-year-old would be a great addition to the squad due to his ability to score goals within the penalty area, something Spurs were missing last season.
They may also get him for a cheap price of £7 million which would be a bargain if Bayern were to accept.
1. Christian Benteke
After a stunning first season in the Premier League, Benteke is thought to have what it takes to play in Europe, wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham. It would be a great deal for Spurs if they were to bring him to the lane as the 22-year-old has scored 23 goals in all competitions for a team that struggled during the end of the season.
He would only improve if he was to move to Spurs as he would have better players behind him and the Belgian is all you want in a striker. Fast, strong, tall and has is a clinical finisher. It would be a great deal for Tottenham if they could beat rivals Arsenal to Benteke who has great potential for the future and would be apart of Tottenham's long term plans.
