Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal for Sevilla winger Luis Alberto.
The Daily Mail claims Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is set to capitalise on the La Liga outfit’s current situation, and bring the player to the club in a deal that could reach £8million with add-ons.
The paper claims Liverpool will need to pay an initial £5million to bring the 20-year-old to Merseyside, with cash-strapped Los Rojiblancos willing to sacrifice Alberto for the right price.
Sevilla are already set to lose Jesus Navas to Manchester City this summer, and Alberto's exit will be another transfer blow for the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán outfit as they look to balance the books.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are strengthening in a bid to challenge for the top four next season, and improved towards the end of last term following the arrivals of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.
Alberto would continue the club policy of bringing young players to Anfield, and could be the Merseysiders' first piece of business this summer after the Iago Aspas deal stalled - for now at least.
