Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is considering offers from a number of clubs and has revealed he could join French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The 33-year-old was released from the Nou Camp after they decided against extending the Frenchman's contract and the left-back is now looking elsewhere to prolong his playing days.

Abidal has admitted that it would be nice to finish his career in his native France with interest from Monaco and PSG.

"I want to continue playing, but I do not know where. I certainly have some options but nothing concrete," he told RMC Sport. "It would be nice to end my career in France with Monaco, but this is not a priority for me. Equally I could move to Paris Saint-Germain or remain in Spain.

"It is obvious that ASM (Monaco) is one of the best options out there. Now I have to make the right choice and I will take my time in doing so."

Abidal's last few seasons have been plagued with serious health issues. In March 2011 he was diagnosed with a tumour in his liver and underwent surgery immediately. Continuing problems meant he needed a liver transplant in March 2012 putting him out of action for a whole year, returning in March 2013.

The Frenchman, who has 61 caps for his country, spent a lot of his early years playing in France's Ligue 1. He played for Monaco before signing for Lille in 2002 and then Lyon in 2004. Abidal has revealed that a return to Lyon could also be an option.

"I had Remi Garde saying he would be happy to have me at Lyon, but I have not had any contact with (president) Jean-Michel Aulas," he added.
