Gomez appears set to leave Bayern before the transfer deadline having lost regular starting place last season and with the club likely to invest in another forward following the appointment of Pep Guardiola as manager.
Chelsea have been credited with interest in Gomez in the German press, with Jose Mourinho expected to pursue another goalscorer to provide a more reliable option to current No.9 Fernando Torres.
The Blues, however, are likely to have to fend off interest from Fiorentina if they hope to bring Gomez to Stamford Bridge, with the Italian club also hoping to acquire the services of a striker before the transfer deadline.
Fiorentina have been reported to already have agreed personal terms with Gomez over a proposed move to Florence, although these claims have been denied by his representative Uli Ferber.
"That's not true," Ferber told Sport1 when asked about a deal with Fiorentina.
Although Gomez is likely to leave Bayern this summer, Ferber says the search for another club is not something occupying his mind, and insists Gomez would only join a team where he would be guaranteed games.
"It's not going to be a major assignment (finding a new club)," he added.
"But one thing is for sure - he will only go to a club where he will be a first-choice striker."
