This season's Championship has been one of the best in recent memory, which is largely down to the individual performances of players who could easily be plying their trade in the Premier League.

We take a look at the five players that have most impressed in the Championship in the 2012/13 season and should be taking the Premier League by storm soon.

1. Tom Ince (Blackpool)

This is one man who is destined for Premier League greatness. The young winger has annihilated all the opposition he has faced, scoring 18 goals and making 14 assists in a Blackpool team, devoid of any other real quality.

Although primarily employed out wide, the 21 year old starlet is perfectly capable of playing anywhere within the midfield due to his excellent link-up play. At this crucial stage in his career, he has two real options: a) continue to develop his game under his father at Blackpool, or b) make the step up now and see if he is capable of doing as much damage in the EPL as he did last season.

It is a risk, but he appears to have a wise head on those young shoulders, making moves to either Tottenham or even Liverpool, a real possibility.

2. Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, now Manchester United)

After a fairly prolonged saga, Zaha finally made his move up North in January for around £15million, only to be loaned back to his parent club, Crystal Palace.

There, he had another excellent season, being named Player of the Year after scoring six goals and creating nine more. His, skill and trickery are attributes that are highly sought after and Manchester United may have just signed a superstar of the future.

3. David Marshall (Cardiff City)

One of the main reasons for Cardiff’s Championship winning season was their sheer number of clean sheets. For this, they can thank their ever-present goalkeeper Marshall, for who made the most number of clean sheets in the league, with 18. He also let in the second fewest amount of goals overall. If he can have as immense a season, next year, then he could once again be Cardiff’s saviour.

4. Glenn Murray (Crystal Palace)

The Championship’s Golden Boot winner clearly deserves a mention in this list, after his superb 30 goal haul last season.

He has an excellent footballing brain; is a quality poacher and has cracking aerial ability. At 29, Murray is reaching the peak of his career and it is hoped by Eagles fans that he can spend the next few years hitting the back of the net for them.

5. James Chester (Hull City)

The final player to make this list is former Manchester United academy graduate, Chester. For a team to keep 16 clean sheets when only playing three at the back is a real feat of defensive prowess, and the 24 year old was a vital part of that last season. He also scored the vital goal against Birmingham, in their 3-2 win.

Mentions should also go to Robbie Brady, Sam Byram, Chris Eagles, Kaspar Schmeichel and Jordan Rhodes who have all had excellent seasons and could all do solid jobs in the Premier League if given the chance.
