West Ham United are in talks with the representatives of former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini, with the Hammers looking to sign the veteran on a free transfer following his release.
Ambrosini has been at the San Siro for 18 years, but the veteran midfielder has made the decision to leave Milan due to the lack of first team football and the non-renewal of his contract.
It was reported that a number of clubs from across the world approached Ambrosini's management team, but his agent Moreno Roggi has dismissed the idea of a move to America to play in the MLS.
Roggi also confirmed that his client will not be retiring, and a move to West Ham United seems the most probable.
"Obviously Massimo wants to continue. His preference would be overseas clubs, but if an offer did come in from an Italian side, we would not ignore it completely. At the moment we are in talks with West Ham United, while we have already ruled out Major League Soccer," Roggi confirmed to Italian reporters.
During his 18-year-stint with the Serie A giants, Ambrosini won a host of silverware including four Serie A titles, and two Champions League trophies.
