Zinedine Zidane v Italy

Perhaps the most iconic red card of all time - Zidane's v Italy in the 2006 World Cup final.

The Frenchman had returned to guide his country to glory and having scored an audacious Panenka penalty early on he looked destined to do just that.

Enter Marco Materazzi and some choice comments from the Italian provoked Zidane's crazy headbutt to the chest. 

The legendary midfielder trudged off the pitch, past the World Cup trophy his side would go on to lose.
