Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is close to a move away from the Emirates, with five clubs ready to fight-it-out to sign the Danish striker.

The 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular first-team position at Arsenal since his arrival in 2005, and the Dane is now likely to leave The Gunners in the coming weeks.

Bendtner was close to leaving Arsenal in January, but he could not agree terms with Bundesliga side Hamburg.

Bundesliga sides Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt and also Turkish side Besiktas are all thought to be among the teams to be interested in signing Bendtner, with all three also having agreed terms with Arsenal.

Arsenal have lowered their asking price for the Dane to around £3m in order to ensure a sale.

In an interview with Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Bendtner conceded that his Arsenal career has come to an end, and he will now choose between the five clubs that have agreed terms with Arsenal.

"Arsenal have agreed terms with five clubs so now it is up to me to make a choice. I will make that choice within the next 14 days,” said Bendtner.

“They are all good clubs. It is a hugely important choice that I'm faced with. I must go where I am wanted- as a footballer, there is only one thing that can make you happy: playing time."

Bendtner has spent three years of his Arsenal career out on-loan, firstly with Birmingham City in 2006, before spending both the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 on-loan with Sunderland and Juventus. Because of this, Bendtner has only made 99 appearances for Arsenal in his eight-year spell at the club.
