Chelsea transfer news: Marco van Ginkel admits Premier League attraction
Chelsea target Marco van Ginkel has admitted a move to the Premier League this summer would appeal to him - but says he won't discuss his future until after the U21 European Championships.
Van Ginkel has emerged as one of the most highly rated youngsters in the Eredivisie, and scooped the Dutch 'Talent of the Year' award last season.
The 20-year-old bagged eight goals in 33 games for Vitesse Arnhem to help them secure 4th place in the Dutch league - and now Chelsea are said to be interested in securing his services.
Van Ginkel himself admits a move to England would interest him - but he won't comment on the speculation linking him with Chelsea until after Holland's participation in the U21 tournament in Israel comes to an end.
"The Premier League is a very good league, I think every young player wants to play there," he told Sky Sports News Radio.
"I know what people want to hear, but I'm not going to say anything about that now.
"I have to focus on this tournament. After that, I will think about my future - not now."
Chelsea appear to be in the driving seat for the talented youngster after Ajax boss Frank de Boer conceded his club wouldn't be able to compete financially with the Blues.
"Ajax were very interested in Van Ginkel and we were willing to go quite far," said the former Dutch international.
"But if we have to compete with one of the big clubs from England it is always going to be difficult for us. We cannot beat Chelsea's financial resources."
Vitesse Arnhem are said to be willing to do business at £8.5 million, with Van Ginkel likely to become the first signing of Jose Mourinho's second spell in charge in west London.
