Birmingham City midfielder Callum Reilly has signed a new two-year deal that will see him stay at St Andrew's until the summer of 2015.

Reilly has impressed this season after being given his chance by new manager Lee Clark. Birmingham have been under financial pressure this year following the arrest of owner Carson Yeung on charges of money laundering, meaning that Clark has utilised the young players in his squad that have recently come out of the academy.

Reilly made a total of 21 appearances last season, and his form didn't go unnoticed, with Premier League club West Brom reportedly tracking the progress of the 19-year-old.

Reilly joined the academy at Birmingham when he was seven years old and made his first-team debut in the 4-0 FA Cup victory at Sheffield United in January 2012.

His form meant an international call-up to the Republic of Ireland U21s this year, where Reilly made two appearances.

And Lee Clark has made it clear that young talent will be a reoccurring factor next season, as he looks to utilise the loan market and academy because of the financial restraints.

Young left-back Mitch Hancox, forward Koby Arthur and defender Will Packwood had all impressed last season in the Championship following their promotion from the academy.
