Fandango will miss this Sunday’s Payback pay-per-view after suffering with concussion since last Friday.

Fandango suffered the injury on Smackdown in his match against Zack Ryder and despite passing his impact test, he is yet to pass further testing needed for clearance to fight.

The 31-year-old made his wrestling debut in 1999 and Curtis Axel will replace him at the event at the Allstate Arena in Illinois on Saturday.

The Payback event will kick off with Sheamus battling Damien Sandow before a Three Stages of Hell match for the WWE Championship between John Cena and Ryback.

Chris Jericho will go in a singles match against CM Punk before a triple threat match featuring Wade Barrett, Curtis Axel and the Miz for the Intercontinental Championship.

The Shield will then face off against Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton in a tag team match for the tag team championship. Kane is in action against Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship in the next match.

The final two see Kaitlyn face AJ Lee for the Divas Championship before Alberto Del Rio challenges Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship.
