Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane has urged Gareth Bale to speed-up his move to Spain this summer according to The Mirror.
Real Madrid's quest to sign Welshman continues with former player and legend Zidane asking Bale to hand transfer request to his current club Tottenham Hotspurs.
The current sporting director of the Spanish giants is hoping to lure the 23-year-old for a reported fee of £85 million, breaking the transfer record of £80 million when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009 from Manchester United.
The La Liga runner-ups are keen to clinch the Tottenham star this summer and are prepared to splash the cash for the signing.
Zidane said: “I think Real Madrid have made their admiration of Gareth Bale very clear – and it has been made clear that we would not be put off by the cost of the player.
“But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave.”
Spurs boss Andres Villas-Boas is desperate to keep Bale at the club, but a record fee of £85 million could prove too tough to decline.
The London club have failed to qualify for next season's Champions League, which has only increased Bale's chances of quitting the club this summer.
However, according to sources, Tottenham officials are confident enough that the Welsh winger will stay at the club for at least next season.
