Manchester United striker Bebe has expressed his interest in making a summer move back to Portugal, with Sporting Lisbon interested.

The 22-year-old has failed to make an impression in England since his £7m move from Vitoria De Guimaraes in 2010. Since his move, Bebe has managed to make only seven appearances for the Manchester United first team. Two subsequent loan moves followed, with Bebe spending the 2011/12 in Turkey playing for Besiktas and then this season playing in Portugal for Rio Ave.

Following the move back to his homeland, Bebe has stated that he wants to stay in Portugal, and he has welcomed reports that Sporting Lisbon could be interested in a transfer.

Speaking to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Bebe said: "I would love to play for Sporting. The club would suit me and it is an ambition of mine to play for Sporting.

"They put faith in young players, appreciate them and play an attractive game that suits my style. It is a club that can grow - I haven't found that in England."

Bebe looks to make the move to Portugal following a dismal spell with champions Manchester United, in which he didn't make an appearance in the title winning season. Because of this United will struggle to find a team that can spend £7m on a player that has provided very little since his transfer, despite Sporting Lisbon showing an interest.
