An amateur game in France had to be abandoned over the weekend after armed supporters from each side invaded the pitch and began a mass brawl involving tear gas, knives and baseball bats.

The game between between Ivry-sur-Seine and Val-de-Fontenay in Paris had to be stopped in the 63rd minute as thugs sparked a series of violent clashes on the pitch.

The police arrived later on to break up the trouble but no arrests were made.

Four Val-de-Fontenay were injured in the violence, however no one was seriously hurt.
