Aston Villa are close to singing Antonio Luna from Sevilla in a deal rumoured to be around £1.5 million.
Villa manager Paul Lambert has been very busy in this seasons window already, having added Aleksandr Tonev, Jores Okore, Leandro Bacuna and Nicklas Helenius to his squad.
And Antonio Luna looks set to be the next player to make the move to The Midlands, after struggling to hold down a place in the Sevilla side. The left-back spent a large period of last season on loan at Real Mallorca, making eleven appearances. But Luna could not help Mallorca avoid relegation to the Liga Adelante.
But the 22-year-old has decided to make the move to the Premier League in an attempt to revive his career after a difficult two years with Sevilla. He has two years remaining on his contract with the Spanish side but is not considered first choice, so will be allowed to leave.
Luna is expected to fight for the left-back berth with Joe Bennett who arrived at Villa last season from Championship club Middlesbrough for £2.7m.
The full-back positions have changed increasingly at Villa Park over the last few seasons, with more experienced defenders Alan Hutton and Steven Warnock being forced out of the side by manager Paul Lambert, who wants Villa's team to be centred around young players.
American defender Eric Lichaj has also left Villa Park this season after struggling to force his way into the first team after a loan spell at Leeds United.
