Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has been identified as a potential summer transfer window acquisition by both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, according to his agent, although neither club has made an official approach.
The France international has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium for a number of months after another impressive season, during which he former a fruitful partnership with Per Mertesacker.
Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been touted as potential destinations for Koscielny, and the interest of the pair of European giants has now been confirmed by the player's representative Stephane Courbis.
"Laurent is part of a shortlist of two clubs," Courbis told Eurosport France. "Bayern or Barca have not contacted the player to discuss a possible transfer but I know that [he] is part of a shortlist of three or four players from both clubs."
According to Goal.com, Arsenal now face a battle to retain the services of Koscielny beyond the transfer deadline September, with the Gunners expecting a formal offer from at least one of the clubs.
Arsenal are reported to have placed a £20 million price tag on the 27-year-old, with Koscielny having penned a new four-year contract at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
The Frenchman joined Arsenal from Lorient for £9.7 million in 2011 as a relative unknown, but has since established himself as one of the finest central defenders in the Premier League.
