Arsenal fans will be hoping that this summer will be the transfer window where Arsene Wenger finally decides to splash the cash on stellar signings to improve his dwindling squad.

With Wenger's reported £70 million war chest, the Gunners manager has a fair amount of cash to splurge on top signings.

Many world-class players have been linked with a switch to The Emirates this summer and it seems Wenger has placed a new striker, holding midfielder and a new goalkeeper at the top of his summer wish list.

The sale of Alex Song to Barcelona last summer saw a gaping hole appear in the Gunners midfield and was also a shock to the system for most Gunners fans. Last season saw Mikel Arteta play out of position to fill in a more defensive role in the team.

This season the supporters are hoping to see a holding midfielder join the Emirates to fill the void left by Song. Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue has been linked with a switch to the Gunners however I’m convinced I know the man to fill the hole in Arsenal's midfield.

Celtic powerhouse Victor Wanyama is the perfect fit to add some steel to a lacklustre Arsenal midfield. His physical presence and excellent defensive reading of the game would help him to take the Premier league by storm next season if he were to make the switch to The Emirates and at the tender age of 21 there is plenty of room to grow for the Kenyan powerhouse.

His impressive displays for Celtic last season in the Champions League against Barcelona and Juventus impressed several scouts and had some of Europe’s Elite clubs chasing for his signature however Arsenal look in prime position to nab the Kenyan with Celtic manager Neil Lennon admitting that Wanyama could be sold this summer.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has urged Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to snap up Wanyama before its too late.

The Kenyan seems keen on a switch to the Emirates according to his agent and with only a £10m price tag above his head the Celtic star is well within Arsenal's reach this summer.

Keep your eyes on this story as we may see Victor Wanyama in an Arsenal shirt next season.
