Manchester United are set to miss out on the signing of Angelo Ogbonna as the Torino defender nears a summer transfer move to Serie A champions Juventus.
According to Goal.com, Juventus have agreed a fee of €14 million for the acquisition of the Italy international, with two players also set to move in the opposite direction before a deal is finalised.
Ciro Immobile is set to arrive at the Stadio Olimpico, although the second makeweight in the deal for Ogbonna has yet to be agreed between Juventus and Torino, although the latter favour Switzerland international Reto Ziegler.
The salary of the left-back, however, could reportedly prove to be too high for Torino, and young Dane Frederik Sorensen could be included in the proposed package ahead of his more experienced teammate.
Juventus, though, are reported to remain confident they will be able to secure the signature of Ogbonna, who has made six appearances for the Italian national team.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with a transfer to Manchester United in the past but, it would seem, David Moyes may now have to look elsewhere if he hopes to bring defensive reinforcements to Old Trafford.
Ogbonna was scouted by Manchester United representatives late last season, but a transfer to Juventus now seems like the most likely outcome for the centre-back.
