It's fair to say that the 2012/13 Premier League campaign served up a number of unrivalled records and interesting statistics, particularly when it came to goals scored in England's top-flight last term.

From Manchester United's record spread of 20 different goalscorers en route to claiming an unprecedented 20th domestic title, to Liverpool's +28 goal difference - the highest ever for any side that finished outside the top six - we can certainly all look back on another stellar season.

For the third successive campaign, there were at least 2.8 goals-per-game scored in the Premier League, an average that had never been reached prior to 2010/11.

Robin van Persie also became only the third player to win the Premier League Golden Boot award with two different clubs (Arsenal & Manchester United), following in the footsteps of Alan Shearer (Blackburn & Newcastle) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Leeds & Chelsea).

Super-sub Adam Le Fondre contributed eight goals from the bench for relegated Reading, setting another new Premier League record, while only four players managed to reach double figures in terms of goals and assists in 2012/13, with Juan Mata (12 goals, 12 assists), Theo Walcott (14 goals, 10 assists), Santi Cazorla (12 goals, 11 assists), and Wayne Rooney (12 goals, 10 assists) achieving that feat.

Keeping with the theme of celebrating the Premier League's goal-getters last season, check out the division's top scoring XI (minus a goalkeeper) with a breakdown of the most prolific players for each position in 2012/13.

Click through the tabs - above or below - and leave a comment with who you think could break into this freescoring XI next season!
