It's the time of the season where speculation rises, rumours are spread and on-going saga's never seem to end.
I will be evaluating the main four transfer targets incoming to the Premier League this season.
1) Edinson Cavani (Napoli)
Edison Cavani is one of the top strikers in world football. For the past few years, he has been constantly linked with a move to some of the top teams around Europe, and this summer he looks set to finally make a switch from Italy elsewhere.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea. With the appointment of José Mourinho, and the downfall of striker Fernando Torres over the past few years, the Portuguese manager is looking to strengthen his attack by bringing in Cavani.
Edinson has also been linked with a move to Manchester City - as Manuel Pellegrini looks to bring the title back to the Etihad.
2) Kevin Strootman (PSV)
Kevin Strootman is a 23-year-old Dutch midfielder who plays for PSV Eindhoven. He has featured several times in the national team alongside players like Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie, and is one of the star men for his club.
Manchester United are the team showing the most interest in the player. The central midfielder would fit perfectly into the United team and would be a great signing for manager David Moyes.
There is also weak links with Liverpool and some other teams around Europe. The players agent says his preferred destination is to England but wouldn't rule out a move to the Serie A. He will make a decision at the end of the U21's European Championships.
3) Isco (Malaga)
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder from Spain is also a very popular player amongst Europe. Recognised as one of the brightest young players in the world at the moment, he is attracting interest from several top clubs. With Manchester City being linked with Isco the most, it is likely he will follow Manuel Pellegrini (ex-Malaga manager) to the Manchester club, where he will be playing alongside Spanish teammates Silva and Navas, who has also recently signed for the club. Isco is also linked with a move to Real Madrid. Like Strootman, he has said he will make a decision after the U21's European Championships.
4) Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund)
Possibly one of the biggest saga's this summer, Robert Lewandowski has expressed his desire to leave the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, and it's fair to say there is no shortage of possible locations for the Polish striker.
After his side suffered defeat to rivals Bayern Munich in the final of the Champions League, the players agent made it clear that he will be moving the Bayern, and that Lewandowski will be making his 'dream move' in summer.
However this took a huge twist as Borussia Dortmund have said he will not be moving to Bayern Munich, but they will listen to talks from other clubs. This has put Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea in conetion for the Polish International.
It is not certain that all four of these players will be playing in the English league next season, however strong links are emerging making their most likely destinations the Barclays Premier League. All four of the players are top players in Europe and would be a joy to watch in the Premier League.
