La Liga champions Barcelona are plotting a move for Chelsea's Player of the Year Juan Mata amid reports suggesting he has fallen out with new manager Jose Mourinho.
Talking in his first official interview as Chelsea boss, Mourinho, who left Real Madrid to re-join Chelsea, admitted that he hasn't spoken to Mata yet about the future as he has been away with Spain for the Confederations Cup, but admits that as soon as the Spaniard returns, they will sit down and have a meeting.
Original reports had claimed that Mourinho isn't impressed with Mata as a player despite his sensational season last year which saw him rightfully win the club's Player of the Year award.
In a report, it was suggested that Mourinho was even tempted to sell Mata and look for his own replacement.
With word spreading that there could be a potential transfer for Mata, it is Barcelona that have made the first move by revealing that they would pay up to £30m for the midfielder.
Mata, who signed for Chelsea from Valencia, hasn't weighed in on the situation with his own thoughts as of yet because of being on international duty, but it is thought that he is unhappy because of not receiving a pay rise.
It is suggested that Mourinho has blocked the 25-year-old from getting a pay rise, much to the frustration of the player.
A source in Spain has stated that Mourinho has vetoed the decision to offer Mata, who scored 19 goals and made a whopping 35 assists in all competitions last season, a pay rise.
