A host of London 2012 Olympians including Adam Gemili, Sophie Hitchon, Holly Bleasdale, and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, have been included in the Great Britain squad for the European Under-23 Championships.

The meet, which takes place in Tampere between the 10th and 14th of July, will be an opportunity for some of the nation's brightest young athletes to once again impress on the big stage.

Following an impressive sprint double in Bedford last weekend, Gemili is down for both the 100m and 200m, while he has also been penciled in as part of the 4x100m relay team. David Bolarinwa (who is also listed for the 200m), Samuel Osewa, Danny Talbot and Deji Tobais will run alongside him.

Hammer thrower Hitchon won Bronze at the same competition two years ago, and will be looking to go at least one better this time around.

Meanwhile British pole vault record holder Bleasdale will look to defend the European Under-23 title she won in Ostrava in 2011.

Long Jumper Johnson-Thompson will make her debut in the competition, having won gold at the World Junior Championships last year.

Elsewhere in the first wave of selections, Zane Duquemin has been named for both the shot and discus, while Jodie Williams will contest the women's 100m and 200m.

The remainder of the team will be selected on July 1.

World Junior 5000m bronze medallist Emelia Gorecka is part of the first batch of names released for the European Under-20 Championships in Rieti, held from July 18th-21st.

Having won silver at the same championship two years ago, she will contest that event along with the 3000m this time around.

Dina Asher-Smith is down for the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay, Jess Judd, another of three medallists from last year's IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, will run the 800m, and Jazmin Sawyers will contest the long jump.

Josh Cox and Leon Reid take on the 100m and 200m respectively, with both athletes also named in the 4x100m relay squad. The team will be completed on July 8.
