Manchester United are about to start a new era under David Moyes and the new manager may have his own ideas of the players he wants to keep at Old Trafford and the new ones he wants to bring to Manchester.
Here, we look at a potential XI that Moyes may opt for at the start of next season.
GK: David de Gea
The goalkeeper spot speaks for itself really. De Gea is arguably the best young 'keeper in the world currently, and has an incredible future ahead of him.
Despite a shaky start, he has improved massively and bagged a spot in the PFA Team of the Year. The more he plays, the more he grows in confidence and his game includes, so he should be the number one 'keeper at Old Trafford.
In my opinion, one of the most improved players in the Premier League last season. One of the better players in his position and he is still only 22, clearly deserving of his spot in the team.
CB: Nemanja Vidic
As long as Vidic can keep free of injury, he is a top defender. His physical presence and intimidation gives him an edge against strikers, and he is up there with the best centre-back's in the Premier League.
CB: Rio Ferdinand
The partnership of Ferdinand and Vidic is notoriously a positive one, and have a great track record as a defensive pair. Following a great season which saw Ferdinand place in the PFA Team of the Year, his spot in the team is 100% justified.
LB: Patrice Evra
There is lots of rumours going around about Leighton Baines following Moyes to United, however i'd like to see Evra keep his spot.
Not only would it mean United would lose a great left-back, but it would mean a loss of a great leader. Baines is not much younger than Evra- therefore the Frenchman should remain as United's left-back.
CM: Michael Carrick
Speaks for itself, the best player in his position last season and in shortlist of six players nominated for the PFA Player of the Year. For me, Carrick is the first name on the team-sheet.
CM: Kevin Strootman
The first player and the most important player Manchester United should have come the start of the new season. Strootman is incredibly versatile and is the box-to-box midfielder that United need. Great player to partner Carrick in the central-midfield.
Another top young player linked with a move to United, Thiago would be ideal for next season's starting XI. More creativity added to the team out wide, which was missing from last season.
CAM/CF: Shinji Kagawa
Having only spent a year in English football, Kagawa was played out of position and didn't get much of a chance to shine.
However, played in his preferred position, Shinji will shine and has the potential to be a vital player in the team's title bid.
LM/LAM: Luis Nani
A controversial choice, however on form, Nani is Manchester United's best winger. He should be given a chance to prove himself after a break from football and see if he can regain his form. I imagine the wingers will be rotating a lot next season.
ST: Robin van Persie
Maybe Van Persie's last season as a lone striker, as leading goal scorer his place is guaranteed. I think Robin has one to two years left in the forward role until he drops back into the CAM position.
