Wrestling legend Rob Van Dam is set to return to the WWE, to feature in next month's Money In The Bank event.

The former WWE, TNA and ECW world champion will return to participate in July's event in Philadelphia.

Rob Van Dam's TNA contract ran out earlier this year and hasn't been seen competing since. But WWE have announced his return despite his last appearance for the company coming in 2009.

The 42-year-old made his name in the hardcore world of ECW in the 1990's where he was famous for battles with rival Sabu and Jerry Lynn and claimed a record-breaking reign as Television champion.

He was a member of the WCW roster before joining the WWE after ECW went out of business. He soon won the WWE championship and revived the ECW world title after a memorable victory over John Cena.

But he had to surrender both titles after being arrested for possession of drugs.

He's also a five-time world tag team champion having achieved it three times during his time in the WWE and twice in ECW. In total Van Dam has won 23 total championships including the Money In The Bank title in 2006, the event he will make him comeback in.
