As transfer silly season gets underway, we thought we'd remind you of some of the biggest Premier League transfers of all-time.

Edinson Cavani may yet nuzzle onto this list, Radamel Falcao's missed his chance, while Cristiano Ronaldo may spring a surprise and reappear resplendent in a Manchester United shirt once again.

At the moment these are just rumours, but what was once speculation can become reality. Here, we look at the Premier League transfer records for each of the top European leagues, with the fees in question taken from

Our picks - obviously Cavani is a huge contender, with Chelsea and Manchester City interested.

Another could be Brazil striker Hulk. The Zenit St Petersburg star would shatter the Russia to England transfer record should Chelsea take the plunge and bring the former-Porto star to Stamford Bridge.

And one final one? How about Victor Wanyama. The Celtic midfielder could offer good value from the Scottish Premier League, and would break the SPL record should a big Premier League club come knocking - Arsenal and most recently Southampton have been linked.
