England full-back Chris Ashton has offered his congratulations to the Under-20 side after they beat New Zealand to progress to the final of the IRB Junior World Championships.
The England side beat the southern hemisphere outfit 33-21 in France and will face Wales in the final in Vannes on Sunday.
Ashton was rested for England senior side's trip to Argentina where they won both their games against the hosts in a comfortable manner, but he was quick to praise the next crop of players.
The 26-year-old wrote on his Facebook page: "Congrats to the England U20s - through to the Junior World Champs final after beating the Baby Blacks. Awesome win!"
The Under-20s have lost just the one game in the Championships, that coming in the group stage against South Africa.
The best four teams in the group stages progressed to the semi-finals, and while England beat New Zealand, Wales maintained their unbeaten record by beating South Africa by one point, thanks to a last minute try.
The third-placed play-off between South Africa and New Zealand takes place just before the final of the competition, one which England are looking to win for the first time.
England have been runners up on three occasions since the annual tournament started in 2008, each time losing to New Zealand, while they finished fourth in 2010.
This is the first time Wales have made it through to the final, although they did finished third in South Africa last year.
