MLS has had to suffer form something of a publicity drop off around the world since David Beckham decided to leave LA Galaxy at the end of last year.
However, interest will quickly pick up again if they keep scoring goals like the two pair of belters that were witnessed by the ever-growing fan base in the USA in last weekend’s round of fixtures.
Portland Timbers attacker Darlington Nagbe lit up the victory over FC Dallas by slotting home a beauty of a winner not long after half time.
The Liberian, who is no stranger to spectacular goals aided by great commentary, took a pass inside the area on the left-hand side and flicked it inside of his marker before curling a delightful finish on the turn into the far top corner.

The spectacular weekend didn’t end there, however, and the next candidate for goal of the week came from a face that will be more familiar to British football fans.
Former Celtic, Rangers, Derby County and Cardiff City striker Kenny Miller scored a brace for Vancouver Whitecaps as they came from 2-0 down to eventually run out 4-3 winners against New England Revolution.
The Scotland international’s second was the pick of the bunch and turned out to be the winner in a cracking match.
Latching onto a ball over the top of the defence, Miller held it up with a touch form the chest and hit the bouncing ball sweetly from all of 25 yards over Revolution ‘keeper Bobby Shuttleworth.
