Former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf will commit his long-term future to current club Hannover 96, according to president Martin Kind, despite reports of interest building from within the Bundesliga.
The Senegalese striker has widely impressed during his first season in Saxony, scoring 18 goals whilst making 38 appearances.
It was because of this form that Hannover achieved a high finish in the Bundesliga of ninth position this season.
And with Borussia Dortmund ready to step-up their interest in the former Manchester United striker, Hannover president Kind has been quick to dismiss the rumours linking their prized strike with a move away from AWD-Arena.
Speaking to Sport1 Television, Kind emphasised that despite the reported interest they have not received any bids for Diouf - and that they have concluded their business in this summer's transfer window.
"There have not been any enquiries," Kind said. "We are optimistic we will be able to extend his contract before the start of the season. We have initiated the transformation that we needed and are convinced we have made the right decisions."
"Die Roten" have made three signings this summer: securing the signatures of Edgar Prib from relegated Greuthur Furth, Salif Sane from Nancy and Leonardo Bittencourt from Borussia Dortmund.
And Kind is adamant that the above signings will spearhead Hannover to a higher finish next season.
"My goal is for us to establish ourselves as a side in the top third of the table," Hind added.
