The testimonial for Alan Tate, between Swansea and Manchester United on Tuesday August 13, has been postponed.

Tate, who started his career as a trainee at Manchester United and joined Swansea in 2002, was due to be honoured in a testimonial between the two. This has now been postponed and will be played at a later date.

The testimonial match will still take place, though a date has not yet been set.

Manchester United will still be travelling to Wales in August though, with David Moyes' new team playing the Swans on August 17 (subject to change). United will be hoping to take all-three points away from the Liberty stadium after only managing to secure a draw in the fixture last season.

After their trip to South Wales, the Red Devils host Jose Mourinho's Chelsea in which will be Moyes' first home game at Old Trafford. Then United travel to fierce rivals Liverpool, where Moyes will make a quick return to Merseyside.
