Liverpool's transfer target Iago Aspas may have to pay up to £4million to seal his move to Anfield.

The Celta Vigo forward's proposed transfer to Merseyside has dragged on for weeks after Spanish authorities are blocking the move.

It is believed that the 25-year-old will need to pay out millions to agents in order to secure his move.

The player's agents have made an official complaint to the Spanish Olympic Committee but to resolve the issue, the striker is likely to have to pay up to £4million to push through his transfer.

The amount of £4million is calculated from debt that is already owed by the player to his representatives. This is added to 5% of his gross contract at Celta and the Spanish IVA tax of 21%.

There is also 5% of the contract Aspas renewed at the club last summer and 5% of the proposed Liverpool contract, including tax.

These problems have occurred after Aspas called for a third party of agents to negotiate him a move while already under the contract to the Aimsport Management Group.

Aspas will need to show Liverpool fans how keen he is for a move to Anfield by forking out a hefty amount just to force his move to the club.

The Reds will hope Aspas is willing to pay the money as they look to improve their attacking line-up with the potential departure of Luis Suarez.
