Kevin Pietersen is set to make his comeback to cricket on Friday as his Surrey side travel to Yorkshire and footage has been released of the star practising in the nets.
Pietersen, along with Australian Ricky Ponting, are both in the squad to play Yorkshire and Surrey Cricket have uploaded a video of the stars honing their talent before the trip.
Pietersen has just been named in the England squad for the upcoming twenty20 internationals against New Zealand, although he will only be able to play in the second of the two matches.
The footage shows the 32-year-old in his normal aggressive batting style, going for a fierce cut shot, following it up with a slog-sweep that looks like it is going miles, before hitting a lovely cover drive.
Pietersen has not played a match since returning home from England’s tour to New Zealand in March due to a knee injury and Friday’s match will be his first in what could be a big summer.
England face back-to-back Ashes series, with the home series starting at Trent Bridge on July 10, and judging by the clip, Pietersen looks like he will be in fine form.
