Chelsea voted 'least popular' Premier League club
The results of a survey have shown the west London club to be the least liked club in the Premier League
Chelsea have been voted by the fans as the least popular club in the Premier League finishing just below champions Manchester United.
The survey was carried out by Trinity Mirror and over 6,000 fans voted for the team they loved the most and hated the most.
The London-based club picked up only 41.6% popularity with all fans, with champions Manchester United second-bottom after picking up 42.8%.
Filling the relegation zone of the most hated club in the Premier League is in fact Stoke City, who are slated commonly for their direct style of football - they picked up only 45%.
As for the most liked football team in the Premier League, it was Welsh side Swansea City that were voted as the most liked with a massive 60.6% of fans saying they liked the club.
It is believed their attractive style of attacking football is the main catalyst behind them getting liked my fans.
For Chelsea, it is believed they are not liked because of their trigger-happy owner Roman Abramovich who replaces managers all the time.
A Swansea City spokesman told Wales Online: “We are delighted to be voted the Barclays Premier League’s most loved team by the supporters.
“A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes for a number of years to portray the club in a positive way, while on the field the team plays a style of football that has obviously won favour with not only Swans fans, but those of rival teams as well.
“Hopefully that positivity among supporters will continue and grow for many years to come.”
