Crawley keen on former striker Matt Tubbs
Former Reds star Matt Tubbs could make a return to the Broadfield Stadium
Earlier on in the year speculation grew surrounding the possibility of former Reds starlet Matt Tubbs making a welcome return to Crawley Town.
However that phased out until fresh news came in from Sky Sports sources who understand that Crawley are interested in linking up with the former Reds talisman again.
Tubbs left Crawley Town in the January window of the 2011/12 season for a club record fee to join his hometown club AFC Bournemouth.
However the ideal dream of playing week-in, week-out for the club he grew up watching as a boy was left to be fulfilled by his imagination as the reality was far from that.
The 28-year-old only started 15 games for the Cherries and managed to net just seven goals during his time with them.
Tubbs was a prolific goalscorer during his time at the Broadfield in which he managed to bag 58 goals in 78 appearances.
40 of those goals came in one season. Those stats and the strong relationship he had with the fans and club is what is keeping him on the cards for a return to the Sussex side.
With Bournemouth being promoted to the Championship and the fact that Tubbs failed to make an impact could deem the 28-year-old surplus to the requirements of Cherries boss Eddie Howe.
However Howe is thought to be willing to let Tubbs leave as he targets other strikers as Bournemouth prepare for life in the second tier of English football.
