Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has raised more doubt about his future by admitting that he would be tempted by a move to a bigger club, despite insisting that he is happy at Anfield.

It is reported that the Spanish goalkeeper is seriously considering leaving Liverpool after eight years of service because he feels that nothing is progressing and he believes he needs to be playing in the top competitions to be at his best.

Reina, who featured in Spain's 10-0 thrashing of Tahiti in the Confederations Cup last night, has recently stated that he is still happy at Anfield and insists that he wouldn't force a move out of the club, but he then admitted that if a bigger club was interested in his services, it would be hard to turn down.

In recent months, both Spanish champions Barcelona and Premier League rivals Arsenal have been reported as interested in the Spaniard, with the latter being interested for several years as manager Arsene Wenger looks for a replacement for Polish shot-stopped Wojciech Szczesny.

Reina, who was giving an interview at the time, admitted that he is happy at Liverpool but then revealed that he would like a move to a bigger club at some point.

The 30-year-old was quoted by The Sun as saying: “My situation is clear. I have three more years of my Liverpool contract — but I never say never.

“I’m very happy and satisfied at Liverpool.

“But of course if I’m given the chance to improve and go to a bigger club, and now there are a few bigger than Liverpool, I’m sure the club would understand.”

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers knows that Reina may leave this summer so he has acted fast by making an £8m bid for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

It is thought that the two clubs are currently in talks over a possible transfer for the Belgium.
