The 20-year-old Spanish striker has just returned from a loan stint at Barcelona B and was expected to be remaining in Sevilla, but reports suggest the club's poor financial position has forced them into cashing in on Alberto, meaning he will sign a four-year deal at Anfield.
It was only yesterday that Sevilla's Sporting Director Monchi revealed Liverpool's first bid for the player was 'not good enough', but today it appears the clubs have reached an agreement.
These widespread reports of Liverpool's new addition could also indicate an exit for Luis Suarez, who declared his desire to leave the club this summer.
Alberto has made just one appearance for Spain's U21 side and bagged 11 goals in 38 appearances on loan at Barcelona B last season.
He also scored 25 goals in 77 games for Sevilla B between 2009 and 2012, and has played just seven La Liga games for the first team.
