What would Thiago add to Manchester United?

Published 4 Comments

In the past few weeks there has remained talk of Cesc Fabregas returning to England, while this has been a common rumour Fabregas stands by the fact that tore him away from Arsenal.

He loves Barcelona; this is where Fabregas wants to be, he grew up there and he has always loved the club.

However, with the appointment of David Moyes as the new Manchester United manager the former Evertonian brings his own ideas of how to shape his squad and it would seem that another young Spaniard has attracted his attention.

Thiago Alcantara has become one of the hottest young midfielders in the world. Already a Barcelona star his lack of appearances has alerted several high-profile clubs.

With a rumoured clause inserted into Thiago's contract two years ago, that could see his price cut from £77 million to £15 million, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all have their attention on the youngster.

WIth David de Gea leaving a joke message on Thiago's hat-trick ball and Martin Ferguson apparently keeping a very close eye on him the Red Devils appear to be the early favourites to sign him.

De Gea has since commented saying it was a joke between the two and that even though he would love to play with Thiago he fears that Barcelona will do everything they can as they know how talented he is.

Rumour has it that Moyes feels Thiago is the perfect fit for United's midfield and Thiago's excellent English could pave the way to the Premier League.

Bayern Munich could still prove to be an interesting option with Thiago's agent being the brother of incoming Bayern manager Pep Guardiola.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique may also have something to say about the rumoured move as he believes that if Thiago has patience he can be the next Xavi.

But with Xavi, Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Fabregas showing no intention of leaving or even deteriorating in skill it could be a long wait.

During the U21s Championship Final Rio Ferdinand tweeted how much he admired the Spaniard.

So with the possibility of United having the flair of a Spaniard - it proposes to be full of exciting times at Old Trafford.
