There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the proposed destination of Europe's elite striker Edinson Cavani.

Not only are Real Madrid keen to sign the Napoli star, but Manchester City are also believed to have put in a firm bid for the 26-year-old Uruguayan international.

Chelsea have also entered the race, a move which would boost their Premier League title chances next season, an in-form striker will be very handy with their misfiring Fernando Torres and Demba Ba having failed to light up Stamford Bridge.

Cavani would be the perfect choice for Jose Mourinho to have in front of his three magicians.

Mata, Hazard and Oscar have proved they have what it takes to not only assist the front men, but also score and score they have.

It has been rumoured that Mata is not part of Mourinho's plans next season, however this has been refuted as Mourinho will tell Mata his role when he gets back from the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Not only is Cavani quick, he can head and his biggest asset is no doubt his strength on and off the ball.

He is a very desirable choice for the Blues next season especially with the three Barcelona-esque players behind him.

Would Cavani be a good Chelsea signing?
